The details of this handmade ceramic bowl look as if you were studying the back of an Aspen tree, growing in a Pacific Northwest National Forest.

I called this glaze Aspen, as it reminds me of an Aspen Tree bark with its brown and pink hues or the orange flashes on the bare clay. It is a white-light gray thick glaze, which its unique translucency is enhanced by the blue-gray brushstrokes shown from underneath. Each piece and vessel are slightly different with their brushstroke variants, movement and tones. The vibrant hues and fine details of this plate make for the perfect canvas to plate your hand-crafted food creations.

Being inspired by the depth of the glaze and the movement of the brushstrokes, you could feel the energy of mixing, tossing, and even serving in this bowl. The spout is useful for pouring and resting a spoon.

All of my handmade ceramics are one of a kind, with intricate details that make each piece a unique work of art. Each Aspen Plate will have a special, unique canvas of color tones. It may range from a shiny finish, to a matte look, to a stone-like appearance depending upon where it is placed in the kiln. No two pieces are the same.
