I am looking for someone who considers life as a potter or sees ceramics as a significant medium of their work. We need someone who already has a good base of experience with throwing and ceramic materials and who wants the opportunity to immerse themselves in clay and discover the creativity and demands of studio life.

Sharing the studio life includes thoughts about design, forms, a range of technical skills, as well as access to equipment. Moreover, studio life embraces the knowledge and experience I have gained over 30 years including transitioning from architecture to building InFerment ceramic studio, with its real-life financial and schedule challenges.

The apprenticeship is for 6 months minimum with an option for extension and is not a paid position. There is no housing included. The arrangement is based on an exchange of services. It involves 12 hours of work each week from an assistant helping me with a variety of studio tasks and clay preparation.

In exchange for the time working in the studio, I would offer a working space of your own, full access to my range of knowledge and guidance, including the use of electric kilns for bisque and a high fire gas kiln.
