The details of this handmade ceramic dipping bowl look as if you were studying the back of an Aspen tree, growing in a Pacific Northwest National Forest.

I called this glaze Aspen, as it reminds me of an Aspen Tree bark with its brown and pink hues or the orange flashes on the bare clay. It is a white-light gray thick glaze, which its unique translucency is enhanced by the blue-gray brushstrokes shown from underneath. Each piece and vessel are slightly different with their brushstroke variants, movement and tones. The vibrant hues and fine details of this plate make for the perfect canvas to plate your hand-crafted food creations.

When you add olive oil to this bowl you can feel the smell of the leaves and the roots in the soil. this a small bowl with a rich and inspirational surface that adds the perfect ambient to the dinner table.

All of my handmade ceramics are one of a kind, with intricate details that make each piece a unique work of art. Each Aspen Plate will have a special, unique canvas of color tones. It may range from a shiny finish to a matte look, to a stone-like appearance depending upon where it is placed in the kiln. No two pieces are the same.
